Support Team allows 1 brand and Suite Team 1 help center. Suite Growth, Suite Professional and Support Enterprise allow up to 5 brands. Suite Enterprise and Enterprise Plus allow up to 300.
Zendesk multibrand: how it works and a flat-price alternative
Brand limits per plan, what each brand needs, what it costs per agent, and when a dedicated multi-brand help center is the cheaper way to run 3, 5 or 10 brands.
Zendesk multibrand gives each brand its own subdomain and help center, with up to 5 brands on Suite Professional ($115 per agent/month, billed annually) and up to 300 on Enterprise, which is priced through sales. Because Zendesk charges per agent, what you pay for the help centers tracks your agent count, not your brand count. Multibase runs 3 branded help centers for $49/mo and 10 for $149/mo flat, but it has no ticketing, chat or phone, so it replaces the help-center part of Zendesk, not the whole suite.
How Zendesk multibrand works
In Zendesk, a brand is a customer-facing identity with its own subdomain (brand.zendesk.com), and that subdomain is also the brand's help center at /hc. How many brands you can create depends on your plan, not on how much you pay per brand. Zendesk's current public pricing page lists Support Team, Suite Team, Suite Professional and Suite Enterprise (sold as Enterprise + Copilot); Suite Growth and Enterprise Plus are still named in Zendesk's help-center docs for existing customers.
| Zendesk plan | Brands / help centers | Price per agent/month (annual / monthly) |
|---|---|---|
| Support Team | 1 brand | $19 / $25 |
| Suite Team | 1 help center | $55 / $69 |
| Suite Growth | Up to 5 brands | Not on the public pricing page |
| Suite Professional | Up to 5 brands | $115 / $149 |
| Support Enterprise | Up to 5 brands | Not published |
| Suite Enterprise | Up to 300 brands | Talk to sales |
| Suite Enterprise Plus | Up to 300 brands | Not published |
What every extra brand asks of you
- A separate help center. Each brand starts with the default theme and is customized on its own. Suite Team gets standard themes only, with no code editing; custom and marketplace themes start on Professional.
- Host mapping for a custom domain. Mapping help.yourbrand.com is optional per brand, and every time you add a host-mapped brand the SSL certificate (a SAN certificate) has to be regenerated.
- Multilingual setup. A multilingual help center needs Suite Growth or higher.
- AI on top of agents. Copilot is $50 per agent/month (annual) on Professional and up. Automated resolutions include 5 per agent/month on Team and 10 on Professional, then $1.50 each committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go.
Where Zendesk multibrand gets expensive
Zendesk prices by agent, so the cost of your help centers grows with headcount rather than with the number of brands. Ten agents on Suite Professional cost $1,150/mo on annual billing whether you run one help center or five.
The second cliff is the brand count. Plans below Enterprise stop at 5 brands. The sixth brand means moving to Suite Enterprise, whose price is not published and goes through sales.
Cost: Zendesk Suite Professional vs Multibase
The table compares list prices on annual billing. Zendesk figures cover the full suite (ticketing, chat, help center) for the agent count shown; Multibase figures cover help centers only. AI add-ons are excluded on both sides. Multibase prices exclude VAT.
| Brands | Zendesk Professional, 5 agents | Zendesk Professional, 10 agents | Zendesk Professional, 20 agents | Multibase (flat) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 brands | $575/mo | $1,150/mo | $2,300/mo | $49/mo (Growth) |
| 5 brands | $575/mo | $1,150/mo | $2,300/mo | $149/mo (Scale) |
| 10 brands | Enterprise required (sales) | Enterprise required (sales) | Enterprise required (sales) | $149/mo (Scale) |
When Zendesk is still the right choice
If your team works tickets, live chat or phone across several brands, Zendesk is doing a job Multibase does not do. Multibase is a knowledge base and help center platform: no ticketing, no live chat, no phone. In that case the honest comparison is not Zendesk versus Multibase but whether you need the help centers inside Zendesk at all.
Some teams keep Zendesk for support and run the customer-facing help centers in a dedicated tool. Whether that lets you drop to a cheaper Zendesk plan depends on how many brands you still need inside ticketing: Support Team and Suite Team allow only one.
How Multibase handles multiple brands
- One account, many portals: 3 on Growth ($49/mo), 10 on Scale ($149/mo), unlimited on Enterprise ($399/mo).
- Each portal has its own custom domain via CNAME, with TLS handled for you through Cloudflare for SaaS. No certificate to regenerate when you add a brand.
- Per-portal logo, colors, fonts and custom CSS, with no Multibase footer from Growth.
- No per-agent fees. Plans include 3, 10 or unlimited admins, and authenticated readers are unlimited.
- Reader AI answers with source citations on every portal, with a fixed monthly quota (1,000 queries on Growth, 5,000 on Scale) and the option to bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic key.
- 9 content languages per portal and AI translation that drafts each locale for you to publish independently.
- A public, read-only MCP endpoint per portal, so AI assistants can search and read each brand's published articles.
Moving brand help centers out of Zendesk
- List your brands and the help center content each one owns. Decide which brands share articles and which need their own.
- Create one Multibase portal per brand and set its logo, colors, fonts and CSS.
- Recreate the category structure and move the articles for each brand into its portal. On Growth and above, the Multibase team can run this migration for you: articles, categories and images re-hosted, with old URLs redirected.
- Add each brand's custom domain with a CNAME record. TLS is provisioned for you.
- Point the help links in your product, emails and Zendesk macros to the new portal URLs.
- Watch failed searches and unanswered AI questions in Gap Finder for the first weeks to catch missing articles.
